Chisum Lea Farm

Foals | Youngstock | Broodmares

Welcome

Family run equestrian business, specialising in producing quality performance foals.

Run by business partners Catherine Hanna who previously Show jumped up to and including Home International Level; and Nicole Galbraith who has Showjumped up to 1.30m along side her full time career. Both have experience in breaking, producing, and breeding Showjumpers and Eventers

Catherine and Nicole have recently been joined by the youngest family member Zac Hanna. Zac started riding three years ago at the age of 10 and has achieved great successes.

In 2024 our beautiful Cynbrook Heiress winning the Ulster 90cm League final and overall Champion, Ulster Discovery league Champion, and all Ireland Interprovincial 3rd place and highest placed Ulster rider in the 90cm class. They also qualified for the RDS Equitation class on their first attempt with a brilliant 2nd place 0.5 points behind 1st! Qualified for the Young pony All Ireland finals 1m class at Mullingar. Brooke also moved up to 1m classes where she had wins at this level too.

Highburren Cameron making a new partnership at the start of the year, also qualified for the all Ireland Interprovincial 80s and 90s final where he placed a fab 8th place in the 90cm. He also qualified for the Young pony all Ireland finals 1m class at Mullingar. Cameron moved up to 1m classes and had a fab 3rd place at one of his first shows.

Marylynn TN and Zac also had their first full year together with many achievements including Spring Ulster Champions 1:10/1:20m Children on Horses. They did the double then by taking the win again at the Autumn league Ulster Champions in the 1:10/1.20m Children on horses. Both leagues they also came a fab 2nd against Junior riders in the 1m classes.

Zac also represented the UK at the world youth games in Texas in the Hunt Seat Equitation class where he, being the youngest rider there, came a fantastic 6th in the world. He then went on to be crowned Young Rider of the Year at the Farming awards for Northern Ireland.

Chisum Lea Farm is an extension of their experience; investing in Top Showjumping blood lines for the farms foundation mares whose dam lines are littered with 1.60m Showjumpers. These mares will be matched to Top International 1.60m Showjumping Stallions to produce the very best foals for sale.

Cynbrook Heiress and Zac were unfortunate to be jumping in the outdoor sand arena at Cavan today. 🌧️🌧️🌧️Despite awful ground conditions they managed a DC in the 90cm and 1m classes. Zac showed true horsemanship by putting his young pony’s welfare first for a lovely DC in the Meter rather than trying to win the class on speed🌟Marylynn TN was a lot more fortunate to jump in the big indoor arena. She put in a beautiful DC in the 1m CoH class. She looked to be enjoying herself when the jumps went up for the 1:10m but one unlucky judgement left them on 4f in the speed round ☺️Hopefully good prep for the RDS Qualifiers in a few weeks time 🤞 ...
